A plate of mini quiches with fresh greens

Side by Side · Parent-and-me cooking classes

Breakfast Diner

Sunday brunch, made side by side.

About 2 hours · Ages 9+ · Up to 6 families · $250 per parent-and-kid team

The class

On the menu

A Sunday brunch your team makes from scratch: mini quiches with fillings you choose, buttermilk biscuits with honey butter, yogurt parfaits and fresh juice.

Mini quiches

Two per team, one each, in a crisp potato and cheese crust. Every team makes the custard, then builds its own from a fillings bar: bacon, sausage, spinach and other vegetables.

Buttermilk biscuits

About four per team, baked hot.

Honey butter and jam

Each team whips its own honey butter. House-made jam is on the table.

Yogurt parfaits

Layered in jars.

Juice bar

Small juicers at the ready, so the kids can press their own.

How it goes

Made together, start to finish

Every parent-and-kid team works at its own station, with an instructor guiding the room.

  1. 1

    Build your quiches.

Mix the custard and pick your fillings.

  2. 2

    Make the biscuits.

Mix, cut and bake buttermilk biscuits.

  3. 3

    Whip and layer.

Make honey butter and layer yogurt parfaits.

  4. 4

    Juice and set.

Press fresh juice and set your table while the quiches bake.

The finale

And then you set your own table.

While your food bakes or simmers, your team styles its own table for the meal: pick a tablecloth (or none), flowers, and dishes and serving pieces from our collection.

Along the way, learn where the fork, knife and spoon go, with a small guide at every table. Break the rules if you like, as long as you do it on purpose.

One award goes to the best tablescape.
